West Ottawa (Bredewey Invite)

Results From West Ottawa Invite

Saturday's Race was warm and rainy morning. Not great for spectators but not to bad for runners. The meet was nice an close to home at West Ottawa Schools. The course was a 1 Loop course that finished in stadium and for the most part is was flat and fast (a little squishy from the rain).

The Girls had another AWESOME race they came in 3rd with two D1 Schools ahead of them. Some of them were feeling a little more worked at this meet and you could see it in their faces but they held on a finished strong. So Proud of all of you!!!

The Boys team is finding there place this season. With lots of new runners on the team they are working hard and making strides each race. GREAT JOB !!!

Can't wait until the Next meet !!! We have 2 weeks to practice and a little Holiday break to get some rest before the next one which is the Christian School Invite September 12. Details are on the Calendar.

Thanks for Sending me Pictures from the meets. Sorry I don't have many picture from this meet. It was hard to get pictures because of the rain. mj.schrotenboer@gmail.com

Orchard View Invite

Monday was a great day for running. It was cool and a little bit overcast so neither sun nor heat were a factor in the race, and it showed in the times of the runners and how they felt both during and after the run. There were lots of smiles and happy runners because they felt GOOD and had some great times to show for it.

This was the 21st Year of Camp for Coach Dekyuter, Coach Blauwkamp and the Zeeland East Coach, Coach Yonker. CONGRATULATIONS and THANK YOU to them they have been organizing and putting on this AWESOME camp for students all these years. They truly have a passion for Cross Country and for the students. Without Them this Camp would not be what it is today .. and it is is for sure one of the most looked forward to events of the season for the students.

The Cook Celeste Kommer has been cooking the meals at camp for the past 15 years. Her children ran Cross Country for Zeeland and she helped out when they went to camp. Since then she has continued to support Cross Country Camp preparing the food for all the runners at Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner !! THANK YOU Celeste you are a truly a blessing to making this Camp Successful year after year.

The cost of camp also hasn't changed much over the years and that is made possible by the generous donations from Request Foods, Spartan Stores, and Meijer. Thanks to them we are able to feed all 80+ kids for 3 days breakfast, lunch and dinner.

This year we would also like to THANK Asics, they donated a bunch of T-shirts that we were able to give away as prizes and they donated Spikes to a number of students.
