Spring Lake Meet
Rain, Rain go away come again another day .........
This past week has been very rainy and we were really hoping that the rain would hold off until both of our races were in but..... We got a little wet out there today.
The Boys race started at 10:00 and we were lucky to get a few rays of sunshine as they started the race. Their goal today was to go our hard and fast, the teams that were were running against today were all fast teams and today was on opportunity for them to just give it all they got and go for it.
A 10:30 start for the Girls race and at this point it was pretty rainy and cold but they did awesome they battled the rain and still finished strong today.

Johnson Park Vs Byron Center
I am so excited to write this post. CONGRATULATIONS to the Holland Christian Girls Cross Country Team. All of you have continued to work hard the season, and we have seen improvements every race. You are working together as a team, encouraging each other, and pushing each to become better runners.
We went into yesterdays race knowing that they girls were going to need to work hard in the race against Byron Center. Going in to the Race Byron Center was 5-0 and Holland Christian was 5-0, we knew that it might be a close race with both teams being so evenly matched. The Holland Christian Girls went into the race with each runner knowing where they needed to be or who they needed to stick with for our team to leave with the win. Hannah V. Was able to stick with BC's 1st and 2nd Runners most of the race and in the end she was able to come in between them taking the second spot, she was Closely Followed by Jessie and Marie, Kate and Alyssa who take places 4,5,6 & 7 which pushed BC back even further, next Veronica and Tori each took on one if the BC's girls in a race to the finish and...........................................
Holland Christian beat Byron Center to win 24 to 32. It was a great race!!!!!. We are looking forward to the All Conference meet next week at Helder park, where the Girls Team could win or tie for the conference title.

Portage Invite-A Great Day for Running
The weather was nice and cool for Running. Everyone on the Team was excited and nervous they all had goals that they wanted to achieve at Portage, and today was the day for them to go for it. The course is pretty even with some nice down hills that they can open up on and pick up some speed.
The first race of the day for us was the Men's Varsity. The Race started fast and the Holland Christian boys went out strong, all coming in well under Varsity Time of 19:30. It was GREAT to see how excited they all were to meet or surpass the goals that they had. They were all smiles as they walked back to the tent after their race.
Next it was the Women's Varsity's Turn. We were super excited to see what would happen in this race after we had seen what happened in the Men's Race. Just as we thought the Women's race started out fast and that first mile just flew by. With so many runners going out at the same time it is hard to not get caught up in all of the excitement and go out flying. We are very proud of of how they all Ran.
The final race of the day was the Women's Reserve (JV) We are so exited for them, because many of them crushed there best times of the season so far, and really found out what they can really do. The Top 50 in all of the race's received medals and in this race we had 3 that made it into the top 50.
CONGRATS to all the RUNNERS!!!!! You are all finding out what it feels like to push your self further and finding out that you are Strong and Fast. Discovering that the Lord has BLESSED you all with the Amazing gift of being able to run and face challenges.
